ALFA DIKIA I and II, funded by the Commission of the European Union and the European Public Law Center (EPLC) of the National and Capodistrian University of Athens. The main objective of this project is to create links between Universities in Latin America and Europe, to advance research in the topic «The role of the Judiciary in a State governed by the rule of law» and promote mobility of professors and students. In the framework of this project as representative of the EPLC, I lectured on the aforesaid topic in Spanish at the Universities Externado (Bogotá, Colombia, October 20-22, 2003) San Carlos (City of Guatemala, Guatemala, October 23-24, 2003) and Barcelona (Spain, February 12-13, 2004).
YPSILANTIS, funded by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with Moldova State University. The main objective of this project is to train Moldovan jurists on the Rule of Law and to support the necessary legal reforms towards the establishment of a true State of Law in Moldova. Within the framework of this project, as an expert of the EPLC, I presented a report in English on the topic «Types of representation: of people, interests, nationalities, religious groups or minorities?» (Government Hall, Chisinau, Moldova, April 22, 2005).
POROS, funded by the European Commission. It aims at strengthening relations between the EU and India on cultural and educational matters. Its objective is to deepen EU-India co-operation in the field of university studies and more particularly legal studies. I chaired the EU Law Unit at the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, Central India, where I taught the trimester course «EU Law and Institutions» (July 14 – October 14, 2005).
AVICENNE, Project funded by the European Commission. The long - term goal of the project is to assist Algeria in the process of harmonizing its legislation with International European standards regarding Human Rights issues. I presented a report in French on the topic «Children belonging to minorities or indigenous peoples. Article 30 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, November 20, 1989» (June 1-2, 2006).
ALEXANDROS II Project, co-funded by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is an institution building project which aims at contributing to the legal and judicial reform policy of the Iranian Government, by enhancing the knowledge of Iranian judges and lawyers on issues related to European law and human rights. As a member of a legal experts Group, I visited Tehran (June 21 – 26, 2006) and, during a Conference held on the premises of Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, I presented a report in French on the topic «Citizenship and its legal consequences» (June 24, 2006).
KIKONES Project, co-funded by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is an institution - building project which aims at training lawyers, post-graduate and under-graduate students from the Balkan and Black Sea countries on the concepts of the Rule of Law and Democracy. During the first two – week Summer Study Session, held on the EPLC ’s new premises in Maronia, Thrace, Northern Greece, July 2-16, 2006, I lectured in English on:
MICHAIL PSELLOS, Project co-funded by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is an institution - building project which aims at preparing lawyers in Turkey for the country’s European perspective. It created a Master’s Degree in European Public Law and European Integration at Bahçeşehir University, Istanbul, Turkey. Chosen by the EPLC which co-funds and runs the Project, I taught Methodology (7 hours) and certain chapters of the General class EU Public Law in English (6 hours) (October 9 – 14, 2006).
KOMNINOI Project, co-funded by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is an institution building project which aims at modernizing Georgia’s legislation, and training civil servants and judges in Georgia. As a member of a legal experts Group, I lectured in English at a seminar held on the premises of Caucasus University in Tbilisi, in cooperation with the Georgian Ministry of Justice, (March 17-20, 2008) on the topic «the monitoring mechanism for minorities rights protection within the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe» (OSCE) (March 19, 2008).
INTERREG III A, Project co-funded by the Regional Development Fund and the national budget of the participating States. It aims at stimulating interregional and trans border cooperation within the EU and promoting the development of the regions of the member States. In this context, the objective of the project is to train civil servants through seminars which are expected to enrich their knowledge and their skills and adapt them to the requirements of the political and economic changes. (October 23-24, 2008) (12 hours).
