Psychology is a field of science in which human behaviors and mental processes are examined. Psychology Department currently has an undergraduate program which can be graduated with a B.A degree. Features of this program can be summarized as:

• The first aim of the four years program is to provide students with a contemporary and scientific education in the basic fields of psychology.
• The Department of Psychology provides the opportunity to study minor in the field of “Social psychology” for the requesting students.
• The other aim of the program is to conduct and support original researches in various fields of psychology. Also, our faculty members play an active role in conducting national and international congress and symposium.
• Education staff of the department represent mainly 4 basic specialty field (clinic, industry-organization, development and social). It wishes to add three faculty members specialized at one cognitive neuropsychology, one industry-organization, and one development psychology.
• Experimental psychology laboratory is being established.
• Mater programs of “social-organizational psychology” and “clinical psychology” are planned to be established in 2011.

Our program provides students with compulsory psychology courses oriented to enable students comprehend the biological, psychological and social aspects of behaviors as well as elective courses which help them determine the areas they will specialize in the future. Also the program includes applied courses containing supportive information such as statistics, research methods and computer use. Psychologists can work at clinics, schools, educations sector, business life, various private and public institutions and bodies, human resources, personnel, education and public relations divisions of private companies and institutions with tasks such as personnel selection, placing, evaluating, education, personnel and public communication. They can conduct tasks in various fields at advertisement, public relations, sales and marketing, media, market research and similar service sectors.

It is aimed to have the students gain the basic knowledge in various application areas of psychology and become academic members fitting for the graduate academic degrees while the psychology program was arranged.
