Bahçeşehir University Modern Languages Department gives undergraduate students in all faculties courses which aim to teach German, French, English, Spanish, Italian and Russian languages as well as their cultures and literatures.

Since almost all academic study or career oriented study requires research, it is even more important to speak a foreign language besides the mother tongue.

Department of Modern Languages tries to attempt the students’ interest in the knowledge increase of a second language and the sensitive global point of view it gains by activities aimed to increase the intra-cultural awareness and communicative skills in the class in addition to the writing and reading skills. Therefore, the aim of the department is to contribute to the students’ interdisciplinary academic studies depending on sources within or outside of Turkey by rendering a foreign language education at various levels.

Modern Languages Department provides lessons in a mixed system oriented at speaking, listening-understanding, reading and writing skills of students. Students perceive the variety of world culture better thanks to the materials used in the language courses. Thus, they learn to be a world citizen and gain a point of view for the similarities rather than differences of their own cultures and other cultures.
