SAMİ KOHEN

Sami Kohen was born in Istanbul in 1928. Attended Faculty of Journalism, Istanbul Univesity.  Started career in 1951 in the daily "Yeni Istanbul" and joined "Milliyet" in 1954 as Foreign Editor. Spent a year in 1958 in the US as "guest editor" of several American newspapers.  Travelled extensively in the 1960s and 1970s , covering major international events. Senior editor and regular columnist since 1993. Author of two books. Correspondent for several foreign publications since 1970s , including Newsweek magazine. Fluent in English and French. Married with two children and three Grand-children. Frequent lecturer in Turkey and abroad, particularly on Turksih policy and international affairs.
